How a Natural Disaster Led to Honda and Acura Recalling 750,000 Cars

If you own a Honda or Acura made between 2000 and 2022, you might wanna pay attention. There's a chance your airbag could decide to explode when it really shouldn't, and believe it or not, global warming might have a hand in it. It's recall Tuesday over at The Morning Dump, and Honda's got a big one. Also, GM's dealing with over 300,000 trucks that might have tailgates opening on the road.

The new Mazda CX-90, fresh on the market, is already in for a recall. And guess what? Even Vin Fast is joining the recall party with its own quirky issue.

Let's talk about Honda's airbag situation. It's not the same old Takata airbag story. This time, it involves almost every Honda or Acura made between 2020 and 2022. The years might vary, so check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's list for the full rundown. The issue? Weight sensors in seats determine if an airbag should deploy. Due to a supplier's natural disaster, a part got swapped, causing problems. It's fixable, though, and Honda will be reaching out to owners to sort it.

Now, about GM – they're recalling certain Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks with power-unlatching tailgates. Water might mess with the electronic release, leading to a tailgate unexpectedly opening while parked. Imagine loose bowling balls on the highway. Not good.

Mazda's new CX-90 has a hiccup too. Around 43,000 vehicles are being recalled because the power steering might give out. A worm gear friction issue is to blame.

Even VinFast in Vietnam isn't spared. Headlights on VF 5 cars might turn off when using the left turn signal at a specific speed due to a control circuit board error. Quite specific, right?

Recalls are happening, and they're quite the headache. What's the last time you dealt with a recall? How did it go? Let me know!

Now, on a different note, I've been waiting for The Last Dinner Party's album for what feels like forever. "Nothing Matters" is the big single, and the album "Prelude to Ecstasy" lives up to it, mostly. Give it a listen!
